0 Condolences: David Bournazian – teacher, leader & fellow jazz man

Joey Thomas and the members of The Joey Thomas Big Band extend our condolences to the family of David Bournazian as they and our greater Capital Region family of musicians mourn his passing on January 8th (2015).

The impact “Mr. B.” had on his students, at Mohonasen is well said in an Albany Times Union article (click here). For those of us who had the pleasure of sharing the band stand with Dave are better people and performers by way of his kindness, uplifting spirit, and his passionate leadership. His absence from our musical community will be keenly noticed.

Services are being held at the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church in Troy, NY. Please click here for service details and obituary.

0 Condolences: Michael J. Wicks (1945-2014)

Joey Thomas and the members of The Joey Thomas Big Band are saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and fellow player Michael Joseph Wicks. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.

Mike played on and off over the years with The Joey Thomas Big Band and always had something to contribute in humor and musicianship. He will be missed by all in the Capital Region music community.

Services are being handled by the Levine Memorial Chapel. Please click here for service details (Wednesday, December 17th) and obituary.
