Or so Joey says! You’ll need to come on out tomorrow night at Randy Loren’s Dolce Vita Ristorante for a little funky disco to find out for yourselves.
Dinner, Dancing, and The JTBB’s new show Diggin’ On Horns!
You know Bob Father will be having fun singing these tunes backed by the horns of The Joey Thomas Big Band, but can you imagine Bob decked out in a gold lamé suit? You’ll need to check it out to see if he dares!
Written by Maurice White and Al McKay, Earth Wind & Fire‘s “Sing A Song” was a hit across the charts spending two weeks at number one on the R&B singles chart in January 1976, peaking at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and made it to number five on the disco/dance chart. So … Sing A Song Baby!
Monday’s child is fair of face,
Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe ….
As today is Wednesday and given the JTBB’s affinity for Blood Sweat & Tears, we’ll give a shout out to Wednesday’s child with “God Bless The Child.” Did You Know …
- “God Bless the Child” was written by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog, Jr. in 1939. It was first recorded on May 9, 1941 under the Okeh label.
- In 1976, Holiday’s version of the song was honored with the Grammy Hall of Fame Award and it has also been included in the Songs of the Century in the RIAA and National Endowment for the Arts joint initiative intended to promote a better understanding of America’s musical and cultural heritage in our schools.
