Review/Comments - The Sinatra Show

Saw your Sinatra Show in Springfield, IL last Sunday. I have my BM in Trumpet Performance, and my wife was very active as a sax player in college. So, we're often skeptical when we go see bands we've never heard. Wow! The best $70 we've ever spent! The band as a whole...the lead trumpet player...Jay....and the REAL charts...just INCREDIBLE show! We were able to talk to the lead trumpet and bone players, Jay, and another trumpet player....all great musicians and incredibly friendly people. And what historical knowledge of what they were performing! With "Old Blue Eyes" performing for his greatest audience now, your show is as good as it gets as far as we're concerned. We couldn't have been happier with the show. We're telling all of our friends around the country, and we're looking forward to seeing you again soon. Thanks for the wonderful evening, and never stop playing Sinatra! Still savoring that night. - Steve and Lee Ann Schoeffel - Springfield, IL

I just wanted to compliment you on your recent concert in Springfield, Illinois. The show was magnificent. My father is a huge Sinatra fan. He just returned from Mayo Clinic after cancer surgery. We purchased tickets for the show as an incentive for his recovery. He wasn't doing as well as we expected, but he wouldn't miss the show for anything. He was in heaven during the concert. I hadn't seen him smile like that in a long time. I want to thank you guys for that. Hopefully you will come back and perform again. After the last performance, hopefully the word got out about how wonderful the show was. Please let us know of any upcoming performances and especially any releases of a CD. Again thank you for a wonderful evening of exceptional music! - Jill Pillsbury

Jay, The Sinatra Show concert in Utica, August 1, 2001 was fantastic. The performance was a success from the Joey Thomas Big Band to your humble tribute to Frank Sinatra to the perfect "summer wind" weather. After all these years of playing "She Cried" and other Jay and the Americans hits, what a pleasure it was to see and hear you in great voice paying tribute to the "Chairman of the Board." I listened from the front row for two solid hours, then played the tape for another hour on my return trip to Syracuse. Your versatility is exceptional. The applause for "the hat" was recognition that you had connected with your audience by performing at "Sinatra" standards. It was great to see you and to hear the great tunes from an era we all can enjoy thanks to your artistry. - Dr. Tom Phelan
